These are some very old guestbook entries from back when my site was a bit more obscure and signing my guestbook actually worked. I'll have a working guestbook up again sometime soon.

| Glenn, |
You are in inspiration! Even more, I have enjoyed living vicariously through you. Keep up the adventures and journals, so I can picture myself around the world.
I hope to take many trips in my life time. The next trip for me is our honeymoon in Kauai. From there, I hope to go to Europe. With Brian's new job, he will be going to Switzerland in the next few years and I hope to be lucky enough to go with him.
Keep up the adventures!

| I sent you an e-mail asking about balancing gear for an early NorthBound start. In my e-mail you may see the concerns are the right sleeping bag, my thoughts on the BD metamid and getting your thoughts on gear. I really have to watch every penny so bouncing multiple types of gear is somthing I want to watch closley if not just to send cold weather gear home. |

I met you at the Jenny Knob shelter in SW Virgina on March 20. You are a great ambasator for the trail. My scouts (Troop 256)and I enjoyed meeting you very much. We wish you a safe and fun trip. How do you walk 2165 miles? One step at a time. Good luck and God's Speed.

Brian & I had a great night with you at Jenny Knob Shelter in VA. I loved your stories about your walk in the park in the Great Smokies. Thanks for the great desert after a nice meal. A weekend section hiker like me was very suprised to be treated by a great thru-hiker. You appear to be having a great time on your hike, and appear to be having a different experience on the trail by being at the front end of the bubble. Hope to see you on the trail again.

I WAS JUST GIVING THIS WEBSITE THE OLD ONCE OVER, AND ONE WORD COMES TO MIND - UNPROFESSIONAL!!! I ACTUALLY FELL ASLEEP TWICE WHILE READING THE A.T. ENTRIES. IF I WERE YOU I WOULD GO TO MAXIMMAG.COM NOW THAT IS A WEBSITE TO BE PROUD OF!! NONE OF THIS HIKING CRAP. I CONVERSED WITH THE AUTHOR OF THE JOURNAL ENTRIES THE OTHER DAY AND HE FOUND A LITTLE TRAIL ROMANCE, YEP THATS RIGHT HER NAME IS BUBBA AND HE HAS A "PURDY" MOUTH. WELL THATS WHAT HE SAID AT LEAST, BUT I THINK THE COMMON LAYMAN WOULD DISAGREE. IM OUT...

Me and four of my friends met Glen 01/14/2000. It had been a few months since we had hiked. So we had a few things in common with Glen. We did'nt expect the AT to be as hard , or as hard as we remembered. We spent three nights with Glen on the AT and had a great time. Some things we can't talk about. At last sight at Plumorchard Gap were we parted with Glen, he was doing fine, and lookind forward to mile mark 106, that was his next SHOWER, BOY DID HE NEED IT.

Good luck on your backpacking trip. Lisa said you plan to start in January and I wondered about the weather. I flew helicopters over northern GA for Army Ranger training and remember some fair size snow storms. Have you done a lot of research of wx in that area? I am very interested in a detailed description of your gear. Looking forward to your narrative of the trail.

To help repair my already damaged reputation: I haven't been skydiving with Glen since just before getting married. For some reason my new bride did not want me to dive for the summer before the wedding. However, we now have HUGE life insurance policies on me and she is asking if I can skydive during a blizzard, just for the challenge. Hmmmmm.....
