      <title>4 - 5 July: Holy Cross Wilderness</title>
      <link>http://www.restlessadventurer.net/#holycross</link>
      <description>
My plans takes me up Notch Mountain where there is an old stone shelter originally built to accomodate piligrims. I'll spend the night and in the morning hike what is called Halo Ridge to the summit. This will net me 1 14er summit (Holy Cross), 1 "Centennial" 13er summit (Holy Cross Ridge), and one low but ranked 13er (Notch Mtn).

I'm not sure where I'll end up Sunday. I'll bring some guidebooks and maps and play it by ear when I find out what the weather is supposed to be like.

      <title>29 June: Picketwire Canyon and Bent's Old Fort</title>
      <link>http://www.restlessadventurer.net/#picketwire</link>
      <description>
Picketwire Canyon Pictures are now up. Descriptions to follow.

Just outside of La Junta is the totally reconstructed, but accurate, Bents Old Fort. It is on the old Santa Fe Trail at the former Mexico-US border (Arkansas River). Lots of good history here. At one time this was a very important place on the frontier.

      <title>22 June: Mt Guyot</title>
      <link>http://www.restlessadventurer.net/#guyot</link>
      <description>
I expected this to be a snow climb but it wasn't until the very end. I've written up a little summary to go with the photos.

      <title>14 - 15 Jun: Mt Neva Recon</title>
      <link>http://www.restlessadventurer.net/#neva</link>
      <description>
Okay when I say "Recon" that usually means failed climb. That's what this is here. I split it up into a two day trip. The first day I hiked up to the lake at 12k just below the climb and set up my tent. It was a wonderful night although a couple times I was woken up by excessive wind gusts. In fact one time I was startled awake thinking I heard a nearby avalanche or rockfall.

Anyway I set my alarm wrong and woke up a bit late. Still I arrived at the bottom of the climb at 07:00 and started suiting up in my crampons, etc. An hour later I was partway up the route wondering about the snow. It was still okay underfoot but it was noticably softer on top. Additionally my ax was starting to slide all the way down to the head with no effort and I was baking in my black waterproof pants. Since I wasn't feeling 100% anyway I decided to turn around rather than continue in worsening snow and increasing avalanche hazard. I went back to the tent and took a nap. It was a gorgeous day.
