The miles are really adding up. I didn't realize that I broke 600 until just now. Two-thirds done. If I hadn't taken that week off to visit my brother I'd be exactly on schedule. That's pretty good forecasting. Only 300 or so miles to go.

Today I walked along the Parkway. I could see where they have flagged a new trail to the side of the road and even some finished trail awaiting MST blazes. Until then the route is along the road so the miles went quickly. It was a little cooler today but I was bothered by pesky black flies hovering around my head. DEET doesn't keep them away unless I spray it directly into the swarm.

Short journal today so hopefully I can wake up early.
