I'm writing my day 0 entry from home. I took a couple pictures of my gear. I've just got a pair of walking shoes since I have a lot of flat walking to start off. I don't expect them to make it all the way and have a pair of trail runners that my sister can send out to me. I augmented the maps in the guidebook as you can see. That was money well spent.

I have two maildrops. The first is within the first week of hiking, Avon. The second is 10 days of food sent about two weeks from the end in Thurmond. I shouldn't have too much trouble resupplying along the way. In fact for much of the trail I probably won't carry more than a few days of food.
