Album: destinations:Mexico:Puerto-Vallarta:Bungee

This is Puerto Vallarta's bungee jumping spot where I made my first jump in January 2006.. It is located outside of town on the coastal highway and right near the popular beaches of Mismaloya which is a mere 5 peso (USD 48¢) bus ride. Post New Years is the low season and the place was deserted. There was just one employee. I had wanted to try bungee jumping for a long time and this was a spectacular location. Jutting out from the cliff top is a swaying suspension bridge to nowhere. About 200 feet below, the water is clear blue-green and crashes into the rocks. Swimming fish (no sharks that I saw) are clearly visible. Even before jumping a person feels like they are floating. I did my jump without fanfare and enjoyed a good many bounces before a cable was lowered down to me and I was winched back up. What an experience! I'll do it again at the next opportunity and highly recommend it to everyone else.
