Just outside of Golden, CO is the Cave of Mystery and Death, okay it's just the Fault Cave but Mystery and Death sounds better. Beth, who does not have a problem with a guy bringing rope on a date, seemed to enjoy her inaugural visit to the cave for some rappelling and spelunking. She performed excellent on rappel. My belay was never needed even in some interesting situations. Rappel on! This time our rappelling was from above "The Chasm". Not sure on the footage - less than 100 feet but with a less-than-perfect rappel anchor angle. Bottom belays were employed but not needed. |
