I woke up a couple times last night and noticed how cold it had gotten. The coldest that I saw my thermometer register was 29.0 ° F. That was inside the tent but outside my sleeping bag and bivy combo. Inside with me it registered 68.8° F which is warmer than my sister keeps the house. I guess I'm not bad off out here.

I hitched into Marion from a picnic area on 221. It was an hour before two nice coeds from Appalachian State in Boone picked me up. ASU rocks. My ride out of the rainstorm to the motel was also by a student from there. Let's not forget the free lunch at M? either.

No email but I shopped, ate, washed, dried, recharged, repacked, got the weather forecast, and did laundry. No time for relaxing. I watched a little History Channel before bed.
