Don't let today's sub par mileage fool you. Today was tough. It started out lazily enough while I let my things dry a little. I was hiking at 9 o'clock and almost immediately my pants, shoes, and socks were soaked from brushing against wet plants. It was a long uphill on slippery, muddy trail up Priest Gulch. The sky was cloudy almost all day but there wasn't ran until afternoon. It doesn't really matter though because my feet were already pruned up and killing me. There was no opportunity to dry them so I couldn't do anything about it.

Finally I reached Calico National Recreation Trail. What a treat! Although my feet were sore and every step hurt the trail was some of the best I've walked on this trip. It mostly followed the ridge, steeply in places, and the clouds were awesome. Lots of in and out of fog. Clouds would blow in from the right obscuring the ridge and rain storms were moving in from the left. Eventually I got caught but not for more than 45 minutes. Then I was hiking again to a tree covered saddle where I put up the tent and had some rum. Not many miles but over 4000 vertical feet on muddy trail with sore feet wasn't easy. I'm glad to be done for the day.
