Today was a good hiking day. It started out with a short interpretive tail about dwarf mistletoe, then there was Grandview Tower, then a long, easy descent to just outside Tusayan where I am now. The firetower was important to me because back in 2003, I think, I visited it after backpacking in the Grand Canyon with some friends. It was there that I saw the big sign for the Arizona Trail and thought "I'm going to hike that someday." It took me 10 years but here I am.
