I didn't sleep very well last night. I woke up a few times and tossed and turned. I finally put on my fleece but it was to late and the sun was coming up. It's Roosevelt Lake day! This is an exciting maildrop. because it has my boots in it. I normally don't thruhike in boot, even light mesh boots like these, but it was all I had at home. I'm very glad to have them though and I think they will help my tendonitis. On the way down to the lake I made a visit to the historic Roosevelt Cemetery. It was right on the spur trail. I think I got some good pictures. It was unique to my experience though I suppose there are many others like it. It wasn't easy finding out where to go to pick up my package. I erred several times before picking it up on the dock at the marina. The ladies also gave me the "hiker box" to loot. Besides some snacks that Dirtmonger left there were many meals which I took. I was supposed to have sent a box of supplies to LF Ranch but I neglected to do so. That mistake left me woefully under-supplied. I'm still a little short foodwise but it will be okay. The marina is one of those places I see on the trail that makes me wonder why I don't go to places like that when I'm not hiking and have the time to enjoy. With the resupply and repacking and brunching and Fosters drinking it was hours later that I finally started hiking again. I would have liked to be further into the mountains than I am. |
