I transitioned to the Santa Catalina Mountains. Surpisingly I've been losing elevation. Sure I might hike up over a ridge or saddle but I lose twice as much elevation on the other side. I'm only at 3,718 ft, deep in Sabino Canyon, low on the slopes of the mountain. Tomorrow I begin hiking out which means up, up, up. When I passed through the Molino Basin Campground I was ready to do some yogi'ing. I was really hoping to catch someone grilling but nobody was. I did score 3 lukewarm waters but those weren't the beverages that I hoped for. I was able to dump my garbage though so I'm happy. I hate carrying days of garbage around even if it isn't much. Earlier I crossed paths with two weekenders. I took a picture of them at a saddle before descending into the Pusch Ridge Wilderness. Check out their gear! They definately outfitted themselves at a sporting goods store. They're enjoying themselves all the same though. That is the important part. |
