This morning I slackpacked as much as I could before the National Park border. My host was amenable to the idea of me staying a second night and shuttling me to/from the next section of trail. So I only had to carry my pack, water, and a few essentials. It meant a comfortable, fast hike through Cienga Creek, flat expanses, La Posta Quemade Ranch, Suella Picnic area/ campground, and a cool saguaro cactus forest. Just a few people encountered today.

I know my journal entries have been shorter and I suppose less entertaining but I have been trying really hard to get to sleep earlier. It's worked too. I've been quite the early bird so far this trip.
